Bishop Paul Mason is the Catholic Bishop of the Forces and a member of the Bishops’ Conference Department for Social Justice. He is the Lead Bishop for Healthcare.

Bishop Mason was ordained a priest in 1998, after obtaining a degree in Medical law and ethics from Kings College, London. Shortly after this, in 2001, he became a full-time hospital chaplain working at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals.

He continued in this role until 2012 when he became Pastoral Director at Allen Hall – the Diocese of Westminster’s seminary where men train for the priesthood.

He was ordained an auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Southwark on 31 May 2016 before being appointed the eighth Catholic Bishop of the Forces on 9 Jul 2018.
